I'm a software engineer with over 10 years of professional experience. I built all kinds of software for work.

With this project I wanted to use my skills to build something useful for the people. I don't intend to monetise this project or benefit financially in any way.

Recycling is a problem that's on my mind almost daily. Every time I need to dispose of something I am confronted by the question: "how do I dispose of this item in the best way?".

If you're here, I don't need to explain why we should be recycling. And I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't at least a little sceptical about recycling management. Whether the items you diligently sort and deliver to the recycling collection are being taken care of correctly.

But still, we have the responsibility to do our part, the best way we can. That's hard, I know! You don't need to tell me about the struggle of figuring out where to bring your waste.

That's how I came to the idea for this app.

It's been designed to make getting recycling guidance as easy as possible. Wherever you are, you should be able to point your camera at an object and find out how and where to recycle it.
